Abstract
This empirical study was conducted to examine types of inappropriate sexual behaviors of the elderly with dementia and identify the effects on 120 care-takers` perceptions and coping strategies to the behaviors. The results showed that 16 types of the inappropriate sexual beha viors are prevalent among all of the facilities of the study. Seriousness of the sexual behaviors in levels was highly explained by report/help-seeking, and lowly explained by stress. The care-takers preferred to use more securing privacy and safety; otherwise, to use less verbal guidance. It is advised to need continuous seminars or training, policies, and guidelines for the elderly sexual behaviors in terms of providing person-centered care services fitting to each of the sexual behaviors with dementia in long-term care facilities.
